Franken - German Wine Region


 

The Franken wine region, located in the northern part of Bavaria, Germany, is one of the country's most unique and charming wine regions. Mainviereck, located to the west of Maindreieck, is known for its red wines, particularly those made from the Franconian Pinot Noir grape. The area's soil is rich in red sandstone, which gives the wines their characteristic fruitiness and tannins.

Finally, Steigerwald is the smallest of the three appellations and is located to the east of Maindreieck. The area's vineyards are located on the slopes of the Steigerwald forest and are characterized by their sandy and loamy soil. The wines produced in this area are known for their floral aromas, fruitiness, and low acidity.
